UNDER CURRENT | UNDER STROM (2026)

Under Current is an interdisciplinary exhibition project that brings together the publication of a poetry collection with ceramic sculptures, sound, and live performance.
This project originates from a collection of poems written over a period of seven years, whose texts deal with connection and dissolution as well as interpersonal transcendence. Relations to others and to external contexts permeate the poems and reflect fundamental processes of perception and identity.
The ceramic works emerge from this engagement and appear as a spatial extension of the texts. The sculptures recall vessels in their form, seemingly attempting to contain something, yet removed from their original function. Their shapes draw on deep-sea hydrothermal sources – so-called black smokers – whose emissions are considered a basis for the emergence of organic molecules. Glossy black and individually shaped in their formations, the sculptures appear as corporeal entities that speak of openness and permeability.
Within the live performance, word, body, and sound enter into dialogue and open a space for reflecting on interpersonal relationships and the recognition of oneself in others. Text intertwines with movement, rhythm, and sculpture as carriers of resonance that address and make vulnerability tangible. Between word and movement, fields of tension emerge in which personal reality and collective perception intersect. A scene of intimacy and emotional layers unfolds, expressing, sharing, influencing, and forming anew, acting as an impulse for reflection and shifts in perspective in relation to collective interpersonal relationships.
The project invites viewers to reflect on socio-political structures and asks how the social recognition of vulnerability can sharpen the awareness of collective responsibility and deepen the understanding of interpersonal interdependence.
